Chiefs Add Former FPHL Defenseman Tanner Coleman 

ROME, N.Y. – The Copper City Chiefs have announced the signing of defenseman Tanner Coleman as the newest addition to the club's inaugural 2026-27 roster. 

Coleman's signing is featured on the Coors Light Transaction Tracker, bringing the Chiefs' roster to 14 signed players.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound blueliner brings professional experience to Rome after spending time in the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) with the Biloxi Breakers, Elmira River Sharks, and Monroe Moccasins.

Collegiately, Coleman played NCAA Division III hockey at Becker College, Rivier University, and Western New England University, developing into a dependable, two-way defenseman known for his skating ability and physical play.

"I watched Tanner play in the FPHL with several different teams and know exactly what he brings to the table," said Chiefs Owner/President Jimmy Milliken. "He has great speed, competes hard in the corners, and makes an excellent breakout pass. He's the type of defenseman who makes everyone around him better. Tanner will definitely be a valuable asset to our defensive core, and we're excited to have him joining the Chiefs."

Coleman's experience at both the collegiate and professional levels adds depth and stability to the Copper City blue line as the organization continues assembling its roster for its historic inaugural season at the John F. Kennedy Arena.

With the signing of Coleman, the Copper City Chiefs now have 14 players under contract as preparations continue for opening night this October.
