Copper City Chiefs Land Elite Forward Ray Falso

ROME, N.Y. — The Copper City Chiefs, proud members of the American Premier Hockey League (APHL), are thrilled to announce the signing of elite forward Ray Falso for the 2026-27 inaugural season.

A native of Skaneateles, New York, Falso enters the Chiefs organization as one of the most accomplished players to come out of New York State. During his standout high school career, he became one of the state's all-time leading scorers, currently ranking 13th in New York State High School hockey history. In just 66 games, Falso recorded an incredible 92 goals and 77 assists for 169 points, averaging 2.56 points per game.

Following his outstanding high school career, Falso continued his success at Nazareth College (NCAA Division III), where he developed into one of the program's top offensive players. During his collegiate career, the 6-foot, 185-pound forward totaled 36 goals and 40 assists for 76 points, showcasing his scoring touch, hockey IQ, and playmaking ability.

"Ray is a HUGE signing for our team," said Chiefs Owner and President Jimmy Milliken. "He's an ECHL-caliber player who brings tremendous offensive ability, leadership, and experience to our lineup. We expect Ray to put up big numbers for the Chiefs and become one of the premier players in the APHL. This is exactly the type of player we wanted to build our inaugural roster around."

Falso becomes another key addition along with former Utica College D-Man Jaxon Rutkowski as the Chiefs continue assembling a competitive roster for their inaugural season at the John F. Kennedy Civic Arena in Rome.

The Copper City Chiefs will begin play this fall, bringing exciting, affordable family entertainment back to Rome while honoring the city's rich hockey tradition.
