Copper City Chiefs Sign Local Hockey Standout Garrett Reilley

ROME, N.Y. – The Copper City Chiefs, proud members of the American Premier Hockey League (APHL), are thrilled to announce the signing of hometown standout Garrett Reilley for the team's inaugural 2026-27 season.

A graduate of Rome Free Academy, Reilley established himself as one of the most accomplished players in school history. During his high school career, he amassed 69 goals and 85 assists for 153 points, becoming one of the premier players to ever wear an RFA jersey.

Following high school, Reilley continued his hockey career in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) with the Walpole Express, where he recorded 15 goals, 12 assists, and 69 penalty minutes in 35 games. His impressive junior career drew significant interest from several NCAA Division I programs, but Reilley ultimately chose to serve his country by pursuing a career in the military.

"Garrett was one of the very first names I heard when I started talking hockey in Rome," said Chiefs Owner/President Jimmy Milliken. "He's like a legend around here. Garrett is the complete package—he can score, set up teammates, throw big hits, and he plays every shift with a chip on his shoulder. I'm sure he's going to be one of our team leaders in every major category and a player our fans will love watching every night."

The signing of Reilley continues the Chiefs' commitment to bringing top local talent back home while building a competitive roster for their inaugural season in the American Premier Hockey League.
